ARCHIMEDES PRINCIPLE B & C
Archimedes' Principle Bucket and Cylinder This all-metal unit demonstrates the principles of buoyancy and displacement! The cylinder fits into the cup exactly. The whole unit can be hung from a spring scale and weighed. This unit can then be lowered into a container of water and the reduction weight noted. Experiments prove that the weight loss equals the weight of the water displaced. Instructions included. (4-1/2" x 1-1/2" x 1-1/2"; .25lb) |
|
ARCHIMEDES' PRINCIPLE APP.
Demonstrates buoyancy and displacement in a way that makes it easy for students to visualize and understand! This set consists of a cylinder with a closely fitted matching plug. The assembled unit is weighted using the large spring scale. The unit is lowered into water and the weight reduction noted. The displaced water is poured into the cylinder to prove that the water's weight equals the displaced weight. Comes with cylinder and plug assembly, overflow reservoir, and large spring scale. The support stand is not included. Instructions provided. (15-1/4" x 4-1/2" x 4-1/2"; 1.5lbs). |

BOYLE'S LAW J TUBE APPARATUS
Boyle's Law Economy J-Tube Apparatus |
|
Boyle's Law Apparatus & Supplies
This device is one of the classical forms of Boyle's Law, frequently described in experiment manuals. Consists of a funnel tube and a stopcock tube, connected together by a piece of flexible tubing, and running parallel to one another on aluminum rods. This allows one of the tubes to be raised higher or lower than the other and then locked in place. A meter stick is mounted between the two glass tubes, which allows for the measurement of pressure. This unit stands vertical on top of a cast iron base. Please note, mercury is not included. A heavy-weight oil can be used as a substitute for mercury. (50" x 4" x 6"; 6.2lbs). |
|
CONVECTION APPARATUS LIQUID
Convection of Liquid Glass Frame
Illustrate the properties of convection currents!
The water and dye-filled glass frame is heated at the
bottom corner. When observed, the movement shows
the path of the convectional current.
(8" x 8-1/2" x 1/2"; .02Ib). |
|
Convection Apparatus & Supplies
Reveal the flow of convection currents in gases! The box has a glass front and two chimneys. Place a lighted candle under one chimney, then use the touch paper to introduce smoke over the other chimney to
reveal the flow of convection. Includes instructions, smoke paper and candle. (8-1/2" x 3-1/4" x 3-1/2"; 1.75lbs). |

Equilibrium Tube with Capillary
Tubes and Support Stand This apparatus demonstrates that capillary rise is dependent upon the inside diameter of the tube. Four glass capillary tubes of different internal diameters are sealed to a glass manifold. The unit is supported by an acrylic stand. Instructions are provided. (1-1/2" x 6" x 8"; .4lb). |
|
Equilibrium Tube - Standard Tubes
When connected vessels are filled with a liquid, the liquid will rise to the same level in each vessel, regardless of the vessels shape. Four different shaped glass vessels are sealed to a glass manifold. The unit is supported by an acrylic stand. Instructions are provided. (1-1/2" x 6" x 8"; .4lb). |
|
Fermentation Tubes
Used for the fermentation of
carbohydrates and for collecting
the gases that are produced. |

MAGDEBURG HEMISPHERE 3-1/2 PK/2
Magdeburg
Hemisphere
A classic in the field of teaching
about vacuums! In a modern
application of the famous
17th-Century experiment, you
can demonstrate the force of
air pressure without a vacuum
pump. When the two cups
are pressed together, the air
is evacuated and a vacuum is
created, separating the discs
will be an interesting challenge
for your students. Made from
rubber 3-1/4" diameter
(set of 2). With instructions.
(3-1/4" x 3-1/4" x1/4"; .5Ibs). |
|
MAGDEBURG HEMISPHERE, CAST IRON
Cast Iron Magdeburg Hemisphere
Machined from cast iron,
this is an excellent replica of
the traditional Magdeburg
Hemisphere. One of the
hemispheres contains a mounted
brass valve for withdrawing
and sealing a vacuum. The
hemispheres are joined and the
air is evacuated with the use of
an air pump. Once the air has
been removed, your students
will find it almost impossible to
separate the discs.reintroduced, the discs separate
easily. Instructions provided.
(4-1/2" x 5-1/2" x 4-1/2"; 4Ibs) |
|
MINI MAGDEMBURG HEMISPHERE
Miniature Magdeburg Hemisphere
