Adirondack Map!
Wow! Look what's new at Hubbard Scientific! We are introducing our much anticipated Adirondack Map #442.
Mount St. Helens
There's lots of seismic activity in the news. To help you explain these phenomena to your students, we suggest our Hoquiam, WA raised relief map. This map covers the Mt. St. Helens area. We would also suggest our two California maps. Finally, our Ocean Floor Map clearly shows the undersea terrain that gives rise to some earthquakes and volcanoes.
State Maps
We offer raised relief maps of many of the states in the United States. Many state maps are in two styles, Raven and NCR.
Raven maps provide dramatic detail and use soft colors to represent elevation.
NCR (Natural Color Relief) maps offer the same detail but use colors appropriate to the natural terrain of the state.

USGS Regional Maps
We have 3-dimensional maps of most of the mountainous regions of the United States. Each USGS topographic map covers 2° longitude and 1° latitude. That is about 100 miles east to west and 70 miles north to south, depending on the latitude of the map.
Our USGS maps use shaded relief and are a wonderful visual reference. They are appropriate for real estate offices, travel agencies, outdoor enthusiasts and classroom use.
How it is done
Hubbard Scientific is the largest manufacturer of Raised Relief Maps in the United States. We begin with a flat map printed on sturdy vinyl. We then construct a terrain model using digital elevation data from the USGS and other sources. The vinyl map is carefully registered with the terrain mold. Once the registration of the map is complete, it is vacuum formed over the terrain model. The result is a truly exceptional visual and tactile reference. You will be proud to display one of our raised relief maps in any setting. |
