Water Activities
Study the inventions of ancient science with this great 3-in-1 water activities kit. Students in grades 8-12 will learn how simple principles of gravity, pressure, and measurement helped inventors of long ago build these machines to make life easier. The kit includes inventions like the Hero's Fountain and Clepsydra (or Water Clock). The teacher's guide includes complete assembly instructions as well as activities students can engage in for each invention. The essentials kit does not include ring stand, rings, flask.
Special Notice: The essentials kit does not include ring stand, rings or flask.

Density Kit
Various shapes are used to teach students how to make measurements in the Metric System and how to use the formula: Density = Mass/Volume. Students use the various materials to demonstrate densities. Includes one aluminum bar, 3" x 1" x 1/4", two 1/2" aluminum cubes, one steel sphere, one glass sphere, and one 15 cm scale. |
|
Alcohol Burner
This alcohol burner is designed to produce heat at a rate that is safe and appropriate for the IPS experiments. The burner stand is constructed of an inter-locked steel frame bidged with heavy duty wire mesh screening secured to the top to provide a stable support base. The heavy glass bottle and special cap/wick assemblies provide efficient but controlled heat production. Solid brass wick covers retard evaporation of the alcohol when not in use. Grades 6 - 12. |

Equal Arm Beam Balance Kit
An educational standard, this balance features a durable one-piece base, molded of high impact styrene with three-point suspension for self-leveling. The beam is aluminum for lightweight sensitivity and pivots from self-aligning genuine agate bearings. For accuracy, it is die stamped so that precisely equal distances are maintained between pivot points.
Two injection molded sliding weights provide for fine adjustment. With a load of 50 grams per pan, the balance has an ultimate sensitivity of 10 mg.Gram Mass Set
Standard masses ranging from 100mg to 50 grams, packaged in plastic box with tweezers. One weight set required for each balance. |

The Ball Makes the Game Poster
Did you know that the launch speed of a golf ball is 170 mph? That a ball with a rough surface flies more easily than a smooth one? That a ball always bounces in the direction of its spin? The way you play a game depends on the ball you use. This poster describes how the characteristics of different balls and the sizes of playing fields correspond to their respective sports.
Activity guide included.

Kubic Bubbles
A practical way to visually "prove" geometry problems and demonstrate light refraction. Build cubes, octahedrons, tetrahedrons and prisms - then dip them in soap-glycerin to produce fascinating shapes with the smallest possible surface areas. Instruction booklet explains formation of surfaces by each of the frames and examines properties of soap films.
