Prepared by the U.S. Army Topographic Command, Washington D.C. Compiled in 1956 by photometric methods and from United States quadrangles 1:50,000 and 1:62,500, 1951-54. Planimetry revised in part from aerial photographs taken in 1952. Photographs field annotated 1954. Revised by the U.S. Geological Survey 1970.
Each USGS topographic map covers 2° longitude and 1° latitude. That is about 100 miles east to west and 70 miles north to south, depending on the latitude of the map. Our USGS maps use shaded relief and are a wonderful visual reference. They are appropriate for real estate offices, travel agencies, outdoor enthusiasts and classroom use.
